Junior Ergonomics Specialist

At Novility, we make working in hospitality easier. We are an  international start-up with a team composed of hospitality professionals, designers and tech experts. Together, we develop solutions that aim to raise the bar of performance quality and increase the well-being of employees in the hospitality industry through the use of motion monitoring, voice recognition and mobile technologies.

 

The company's first product, Novility HELP, provides an enhanced, comprehensive educational experience for employees. Amongst others, it teaches them to perform heavy tasks in an ergonomically correct way. Currently growing at a fast pace we are offering a part-time position in a collaborative work environment to set the first step in your researching and/or practicioning career for serious gaming purposes. You are flexible and you love to be challenged by shifting priorities and research tasks. Next to that, you are comfortable learning new skills and working in a fast-growing start-up company.

Responsibilities

  • Research, perform ergonomics analysis and evaluations using qualitative and quantitative tools on all current and future training modules of Novility L.I.V.E.;
  • Assess all areas of potential injury risk in our interactive training modules and provide solutions to effectively reduce and/or eliminate task related injuries;
  • Assist in planning, designing, and conducting Ergonomic evaluations and measurements;
  • Interact with our researchers, layout artists and 3-D animators to properly address any potential EHS issues;
  • Provide support to the Marketing and Sales departments with product health and safety benefit information;
  • Work actively with our motion capturing professionals to review and ensure correct movements are captured onto our 3-D measuring platform;
  • Actively identify new areas for professional development;
  • Contributes to current and new products by applying ergonomic principles against best practices.
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Human movement sciences/physiotherapy/ergonomics or related field;
  • Proficiency actively using ergonomic analytical tools in professional environments;
  • Must be proficient with documentation tools for planning and collaboration;
  • Excellent English oral and written communications skills;
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels throughout the organization;
  • Exceptional organizational ability with good follow-up skills and attention to details are a must;
  • Ability to work independently, good decision making and problem solving skills;
  • BCPE certified or ability to be BCPE certified with AEP (Associate Ergonomics Professional);
  • Affinity with technology;
  • Experience within the hospitality industry is a plus, but not a necessity;
  • Teamwork, cooperation, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good sense of humor are a MUST in our company!
